Don't fool yourself. People are switching to source. 3D and Complexity play source, and most of the European and asian teams have already switched. DirectTV and the CPL host source tournaments, and the ESWC hasn't used 1.6 in about 4 years, that is where the money is at. CAL even had to expand their league format to accommodate the number of people who are playing now. The only reason 1.6 exists is because people are too poor to afford new computers and others are too stubborn to have to transition to a completely new game and lose their skill. More people compete in source now than competed in 1.6 five years ago.
It doesn't matter if you like source or not eventually your gonna have to make the switch or your gonna be stuck with the million or so pubbers who run around iceworld for 12 hours straight with an auto shotty.
