X-Box Elite

I'm buying one later today. One games do y'all recommend, aside from R6:Vegas for online multi-player recreation?

ITH 04-29-2007 05:36 AM

i recommend u give it to me

Fallen JeStEr 04-29-2007 12:32 PM

hey clock I have never played Gears of War but from what I heard they ruined the game and the community does not like it. How true that is I don't know bc I have no experience with gears. Call of duty 3 is fun multiplayer and single player but multiplayer is not like call of duty multiplayer. It is more like battlefield multiplayer with a COD twist. Halo 2 is a oldie but goodie.

I don't have too many games bc I don't have a lot of time devoted to other games besides rainbow because I love that game. Also I am a leader and have to play it to keep everyone in line hahaha.

Graw 2 I hear is unplayable until they patch the multiplayer. Never played it besides the demo and was not impressed.

C&C3 is coming out and unreal tournament 3, along with halo 3.

Hope this gives you some information. Try to put my biases to the side.

yeah i have COD 3, its pretty fun online but can get kinda montanous...i'm waiting for my rv6 to show up from gameznflix so i can try it...otherwise im waiting for halo 3 to come out.

catch22 04-29-2007 06:54 PM

Gears of War is a pretty decent game IMO. I feel as if most new games that companies are coming out with are more worried about awesome graphics over the gameplay and story. GoW is an extremely short game. Some people may not like to pay attention to the cutscenes of games to try and learn the story behind it all, but thats always been something i held in high regard.

To each his own.

yeah i like to sit and watch the story behind the game while playin it too...kinda adds to the "i know why i am doing this" feel for me lol...gay i know, but like catch says to each his own

Hell-Kite 04-29-2007 09:30 PM

I love gears, ahnd the insane difficulty is fucking ridiculous! I havent played it online yet though

KhaOZ 04-29-2007 09:48 PM

They pretty much saved Gears with the latest patch. Annex rocks. They didn't fix any bugs though. The ones they thought they fixed, people figured out how to do in other ways. The game is much MUCH more fun in Annex mode though. Respawns, extremely fast pace. It's great.

C&C3 is my cup of tea these days though. It plays soo well on the 360. I have it on the PC and was quite shocked at how well they did with the 360 version. Dare I say I like the 360 version more? Perhaps.

I REALLY hope they release the 360 version of Hellgate London along side the PC version, or at least within months of it. Then we could own some fools together :)

"The Cathedral" Hellgate edition.

Hell-Kite 04-30-2007 03:02 PM

You think this hellgate game is going to be that good khaoz? is it even suppose to be coming to 360?

Have you ever doubted a Blizzard game? Cause this is almost the entire Blizzard North team. Bill Roper, one of the founders of blizzard, and the father of Diablo and Diablo 2 is the lead guy on Hellgate London, and just about his entire team from Blizzard left with him to make this game. So pretty much, look at this game as another Blizzard game, and you should understand why I'm so sure it'll be a huge hit.

But yeah. They've said it will hit the 360.

Seriously though. You look through the resumes of the team on Hellgate London, and almost ALL of them worked on Diablo and Diablo2. It's pretty crazy, but sweet.

KhaOZ 04-30-2007 06:15 PM

blizzard = hot games!

Lithium 04-30-2007 08:13 PM

Nice, should have some solid gameplay then. I looked around a little bit for a release date, didn't find one... is it coming soon? I just got a 360 actually, just finished up Gears and CoD3, solid single player games, both are short, but very well done. I didn't realize there was this elite edition coming out. I literally bought my 360 1 week before this 'elite' was launched. Oh well, as far as I can tell, no big diff, just a much larger HD and 1080p capability, nothing major at all.

They haven't announced an official release date. In Blizzard fashion, they've been delaying it for over a year now. The last time frame they gave was "Summer 07", which is really soon.

As for the differences in your 360 and an Elite, yours does 1080p just fine. You just need a VGA cord instead of component. I have one, works great. The only differences are the color(elite is black), 100gb more HDD space(not a big deal for most people), and HDMI output(is it THAT much better than component or VGA? Somewhat, but not really). I'd almost buy one just cause it's black though, lol.

I plan on modding my 360 when its warranty is up though. They have some sick sick cases for 360s you can buy, and you can get cheap HDD upgrades, and everything in the mod community. So later this year i'll go that route. If I didn't have a 360 already though, I'd probably buy an Elite, just cause they're so pretty.

Back on Hellgate London though. It's been in developement since 2003, when Blizzard North disbanded and all these guys quit Blizzard. It should have some very solid gameplay, that is very refined. I'm looking forward to it.

Nice, I was actually playing WoW for the first time a few weeks ago, put about a month in. Pretty fun game, but holy crap, these MMORPGs rape your day, I only got to a 34 rogue, and all your free time is gone, so I gave it up! I have to say WoW is one of the most complete games in every single aspect I've ever played. These guys are from blizzard as well, and probably have taken notice to why WoW has been so successful and probably have implemented similar things in this hellgate game. The FPS is a nice twist, I'll keep my eyes peeled. I'm really looking forward to halo 3 tho, I've always been a huuuge halo fan.

You remember back in like 2001 when I was telling all of you WoW would be HUGE? People laughed!

Anyway. They say hellgate london plays like an Action RPG, like Diablo2, just in a different view. Once you play it, they say it starts to feel very familiar. There is a class, the Hunter Marksmen, who are like an FPS in many ways. Where actual aiming and clicking with your mouse is imortant like in all FPS, but all other classes play differently, and are nothing like an FPS except for the camera view(which can also be in 3rd person).

This one guy who played it, said that, Deus Ex was from FPS to RPG, as Hellgate: London is from RPG to FPS. If you've played Deus Ex, that should make sense.

KhaOZ 04-30-2007 11:51 PM

Then of course there's the fact that it's online. They say, the game you buy, out of the box, will be free to play online. No monthly fees like WoW. I think they're going to go with a system where you pay for packages of extra content, or something. I'm not quite sure. Something like expansions you pay to DL? Kinda like Xbox Live stuff? It should all be clear soon, there's a huge front page Hellgate thing going on in the next Games for Windows Magazine(Computer Gaming World). They say it'll all be laid out in that issue.

Lithium 04-30-2007 11:54 PM

Well its good to see their trying to create something new. I have allready played StarWars Galaxies and WoW, both great games, but it will be fun to try something new and different. I wouldn't be surprised to see this game come out much earlier on pc then 360. Like you said the game is suppose to run on systems as much as 4 years old, but my 360 is much more capable then my pc is nowadays..

So how does VGA work for 1080p? Does a HD LCD have a hookup for VGA? or did you hook your 360 upto a computer moniter with a VGA cable? I just wanna get a decent setup before halo 3 comes out, and I havent bought a new tv so ya.
