I have 2 7600 gs video cards for sale 256 mb cards that i am prolly going to sell. I just bought 2 7900 gs video cards 256 mb each runs vanguard in high quality at a decent frame rate of 30-40 fps avg. Anyway just though i would seee what you are building.

I'm thinking about building a new pc...

5200+ X2
8800 GTX 768MB 384-bit
2GB PC4200 DDR2
DFI motherboard
2x SATA 3.0Gbps 400GB drives

word

I'm considering changing the mobo to support SLI, but we'll see.

i would seriously recommend going core 2 duo instead of the am2 platform. as for the gpu, i would get a single 8800GS. that single card is just slightly slower than dual 7900gtx's.

and apparently they don't sell your vid card anymore. link doesn't go to it anymore.

i'm also considering upgrading mine soon. i'm still on the 939 platform, but i figure if i stick an opty 185 and oc it to 3ghz i should be fine. i have 2 7900gt's, and i'm not planning on going vista anytime soon, so i should be fine with that.

pretty much what i got.

opty 165 @ 2.7ghz
HT at 1200mhz
2x 7900GT's at superclocked speeds
1GB PC4000 @ 500mhz (stock)

I envy you.

here's mine atm:

4400+ X2
2gb ddr500
2 evga 7900gt KO

the main reason i'm wantin that opty is because i can't get this damn thing to go over 2.5ghz. it just won't do it. my old 3700+ i could hit 2.75 without it breaking a sweat. i've got some nice zalman coolers on my gpus, but i haven't bothered ocing them in a while now. everything i play right now i can play maxed out with no stutter.

a 4400+ X2 is not an opteron.
the opteron 185 can't OC worth crap.
the 165 can, however, with a good motherboard like a DFI.

i probably won't go with the 185 just because of price. my mobo is an asus a8n32 sli deluxe, so i got a good mobo. my ram is some of the best ddr500 out there, by g.skill. i know the mobo and ram aren't holding me back, because i've had them pushed with the 3700+. i do wish i had gotten an opty instead of the 64 x2 when i went dualie. it's a great cpu, it just won't oc worth a damn :(
