I persoanlly don't see sony losing anyground they are Dominating in the online PC gaming world. the development of blueray discs and the fact that they are on the shelves. They may have some problems but MS isn't exactly at the top of there game with all the R&D still going into Windows Vista and what not and still not being released along with the loss of the VanGuard saga of heros contract microsoft better do something to bring in the Bucks.
I am not a Microsoft fan or a sony fan in unequal amounts it sounds kinda like you are pissed about your TV mostly.
Sony online entertainment makes 10 times what selling consoles does for there business and with the new blue-ray discs already on the shelves they are maximizing there business. Now not to attack the point but the PS3 will dominate the video out put of the 360 because the 360 is not a true next gen gameing console it is a enhanced x-box with HD capaibility not much more then a standard besides a new video card and new processor my buddy works for ATI the company that developed the GPU for the system he worked on the team and helped design the GPU.
I would say it will be a good run in the console wars but in the end i am sure Sony as a whole will have a bigger market and are not really concerned about being #1 in consoles when they make so many other goods. both companies have there niche microsoft has been focused on the console as the same with nintendo sony has tons of other products and huge R&D teams designing new things all the time.
In short Sony's business doesn't depend on the gaming console. And microsoft needs to quit working so hard on consoles and give us the new Vista OS.
