This forum was opened in 2007 and after nearly 16 years needs to be retired. The forum software is long out of date and has become progressively harder to patch in order to run on newer hosting software. I have done what I can to get the forum up in a read-only view, but posting will remain broken. A few old members still hang out on Discord if you'd like to stop by to say hello.
Thanks for the memories. -Lhurgoyf

Lucid Dreams

I posted this in the misc, but I thought I'd share it with the teen section.
Okay. In school we spent 9 weeks learning how to do this. (yes my school is awesome ) OKay there are several things you can do.
Basically what you need to do is realize that you are in a dream while you are dreaming.
I recommend making a dream log for about 2 weeks. Write down every dream you have in detail. Keep it by your bed, because if you do not remember it within 10 seconds you are pretty much screwed.
Do not set an alarm clock. You don't want to be waken up. You need to get at least 8 hours of sleep. Lucid dreaming occurs during REM sleep (rapid eye movement) so you need to get at least 8 hours of sleep (obviously).
Once you get into a dream, you can check to see if you are dreaming or not by:
1. look at a digital clock (if the numbers don't work, the clock is broken or you are dreaming)
2. flip a switch (same as above-iof it aint broken then your prolly dreaming)
After keeping your dream log for long enough, look at it, read through and find something that keeps popping up in your dreams, for example if you keep dreaming about a car ride or specific people) Find something like that. If you cannot, keep your dream log for a longer amount of time. ONce in a dream, if you dream about something like that, you can, with practice, say, hey, I'm dreaming about ________-I must be dreaming. ONce you realize that, you will probably wake up. Don't worry.
Keep working at it.
Keep in mind
You will NOT have a lucid dream every night
It might take months before you become a lucid dreamer
And it might be months in between your lucid dreams.
Stick with it, it is worth it
Tips the best way to lucid dream is think about it basically non-stop. You have to want it.
Further Info
google "lucid dreaming"
watch "Waking Life"
www.wikipedia.com
What can you do in a Lucid Dream?
ANYTHING YOU WANT
While you are lucid dreaming, if you want to find someone, find a phone and call them.
If you want to fly, fly. It's as simple as that.
The last thing you should know about is false awakenings. Some people have lucid dreams and they keep thinking that they are waking up, but they are not. They get scared shitless and freak out. Don't do this. You will wake up in time. Some people are really tired after lucid dreaming and they can't wake up. To avoid this, you can meditate in your dream.
and yes you can talk to people in your dreams
and lastly, yes you can have sex with hot chicks in your dream
feel free to ask any questions

I've done something similar since I was a kid. Once I become aware I'm in a dream, I've been able to control them, and do some pretty crazy things. I've never had the full control that this guy says they get, but I've had a pretty nice amount of control in some dreams. I kind of assumed everyone did this, but never talked about it, since I figured most people were like me, and did things they didn't want others to know about, when in these kinds of dreams, lol.

I'm too scared to try 'cause of the whole thinking you're waking up but aren't actually waking up. I'd be one of those people who freaked out.

I've delt with that part of it too, but it wasn't so bad. I didn't know any better in most cases. Most of the time, i'd try to wake up, but wouldn't, but I thought I was, so like, when I was a kid, I'd get ready for school, brush my teeth, do my hair, get all ready to go, and then my Mom would wake me up in real life, and I'd be more mad that I just spent all that time getting ready, but I hadn't actually done anything, lol.
There's been a few times where I tried to wake up, and I wouldn't wake up. The best way to do it I figured out over time, was to open my eyes in my dream as wide as I could. This would make me open my eyes in real life, and i'd wake up.

I found this one site, it talks about it like its an alcohol's anonymous but for lucid dreamers. Apparently some people who master this try and do it all the time and escape reality. Pretty scary, so I guess if you plan on doing this remember like all things in life, small quantities.
