I've used a couple but formatted 'cause I could never get windows and linux to work while both installed. Maybe I just had bad luck. I've tried Ubuntu and Mint and also Fedora but after the third time and the MBR's all fucked up I gave up.

It's too bad 'cause I don't game much anymore and they were all really nice OS's for chat, school and surfing.

I use ubuntu, but normally not as my main OS; I keep it installed incase my computer crashes or if I don't want to wait for windows to load just to browse the internet.

Not sure if they still make it but speaking of that they have a program called wine to help with compatibility issues for software. It is not going to fix all issues but it will give you a nice selection of software that will run. I guess you could say it is an emulator/Virtual PC. anyway haven't messed with the OS version for users mostly the server versions. might be worth a look though if you are trying to get a microsoft program to run on it. I believe people run eq2 and stuff not to sure on all the code out there for user end version.
