Default Bought a 360

Just bought a 360 last night, with condemned and saints row, put gears of war on pre-order too :D

NOW, do any of your guys' 360s ever freeze up, mine does a lot suprisingly, I'm thinking there is something wrong and might have to get it fixed, but if any of you know quick fixes, or even what the problem is.

It shouldn't freeze up at all man. You talking about to the point that you have to restart the system? If you're just talking about tearing in the video, then that's a issue with Saints Row since they went with turning VSync off. They're planning to release something to fix that though I guess.

I'd return it right away if it's freezing up.

Be sure you're not sitting it inside any entertainment system or on your carpet, it needs plenty of room to breathe just like a PC.

Some 360s have heating issues with the processor.

They haven't since the first batch back in 05. Since then the problem which was a degrading thermal paste that wasn't applied right, has been fixed. MS has annoucned they will pay shipping and replace all of that first batch of 360s that were created before Jan 1st 2006. Anything after that date is the newer versions that don't have that problem anymore and have all fallen well under the 3-5% defective ratio that is the industry standard.

Likewise his could still fall under that 3-5%.

WELL heres whatsup, I called xbox, cause Its freezing everytime i play, i have it on a cardboard box, in the middle of my room, with a fan blowing down the back of it lol.

Basically, i bought it "used" since i work at gamestop, when i say used, i mean it was stolen so its practically brand new, I got a hard drive, the system, 2 games, 2 wireless controllers and chargers for 300 bucks with all my discounts.

talking to a guy at microsoft, he said the thing is still under warranty, so I'm sending it in and they are fixing it for me (the warranty ends october 15th, how lucky ;P)

So i pretty much lucked out on that, hopefully after they fix it, it will run smoothly

Sweet. They'll probably send you a brand new one. They've done that with quite a few peoples. They'll just make you send back the system without wires or HD or anything. Then they'll send you a brand new system probably, and you'll get a new HD, new control, etc, all for free(this is all maybes). Also, if after a week or two of them not sending it back yet, which is sure to happen, you call them frustrated and in many cases they'll give you a free game. Usually something like Kameo, or Perfect Dark Zero, or something.

GL man! Good thing you're doing it now so it'll be back and running for Gears of War! woot!
