This forum was opened in 2007 and after nearly 16 years needs to be retired. The forum software is long out of date and has become progressively harder to patch in order to run on newer hosting software. I have done what I can to get the forum up in a read-only view, but posting will remain broken. A few old members still hang out on Discord if you'd like to stop by to say hello.
Thanks for the memories. -Lhurgoyf

Did you order Halo 3: CE? Be warned...
There have been reports of the Collectors Edition discs being scratched to all hell because the plastic clips that are supposed to be holding the disc in place don't function properly. Once the disc is dislodged these faulty clips turn into the enemy as the loose disc bounces around and gets gashed....
Someone posted a video yesterday (it's not very easy to tell it's scratched, but considering the widespread reports of this I'm willing to be it's pretty bad):

Also here is another site citing the issue:

Yeah IGN's fell out.
If you spent a couple hundred on that helmet, I don't see why you wouldn't just go pay $60 more for the game, instead of crying. :)

You've got your editions confused.... CE is a black tin for $70...LEGENDARY is the 130 dollar one - and there are no problems with that.

Yeah, legendary edition has the tin one inside of it, and has the same problem, though bungie says there is no problem at all.
I'll just shake the one I pick up, and keep shaking em till i get one that doesn't rattle. And that'll be the one I buy.

So, I openned mine, as did others in the store. All of ours were scratched. One guy's was so bad looking too. They gave us new ones, open, and scratches there too. Everyone ended up just going with regular edition. I think we opened 7 or 8 before people just gave up trying to find a decent Collectors Edition.

you dont get the tin in the legendary edition... just the regular case.
And no scratches on my leg edition... but for $130 I would expect there not to be problems with it -.-
