Yeah, was confirmed a bit back, 500k total, delayed cause of no Bluray lasers. I mentioned it in a post a while back that Sony was doing this cause of the problems with the cell CPU cores and Blueray. 100k to japan, 400k North America, no launch in Europe or the rest of the world till March 07. A few weeks back when I first got wind of this news, I went to try and reserve a PS3 all through town here, in FT Collings, and in Denver, and every store says the same thing. They're only going to be getting 1-2 per store, and require you to pay your preorder in FULL, before putting your name into a hat, and they will draw names out of the hat to show the order in which people will recieve their PS3s. So unless you have $600 to let them hold on to while you pray you get one, it's not worth it.
Sony is pretty fucked overall. Their near killing themselves in this round. The analists say that even Nintendo will have quite the lead on Sony soon.
We'll see though.
