There is a story called Gyges ring. Its an ancient story mentioned by Plato, he says that man is naturally evil, if you give him power without consequence he will use it to do evil.

Dave Carnegie, one of the leading theorists on human psychology and the most influential humans relations scholars of the early 20th century said that no man does evil with the idea that they are wrong.
